Microsoft | No username on User folder share only the name “My Documents” is displayed

It happens quite often that you see in your windows explorer on the fileserver where you store the roaming / default profiles of users. And you see only “My Documents” instead of a username

To change this you have to change the view settings of windows first for all the folders (temporary)

Change the settings of “Hidden files and folders” to Show hidden files, folders, and drives, after this change the following option “Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)” and click on OK

When you go into the folder. You will find a file name called “Desktop.ini”

Remove this file “Desktop.ini” when you go one folder up you will see that the folder name has been changed.

Now you will see that all folders has their correct name and you can make the difference which folder is for which user.
